Klap launches Visa and Mastercard acquiring on BPC’s cloud, reaching 90 million monthly transactions

Klap, one of Chile’s fastest-growing acquiring networks, has achieved a significant milestone by launching Visa and Mastercard acquiring services in partnership with BPC, a global leader in payment solutions. Leveraging BPC’s next-generation SmartVista platform in the cloud, Klap has completed a comprehensive modernisation of its processing infrastructure.

Now operating fully under a SaaS model, Klap can process and manage large transaction volumes with total operational flexibility and security. The platform went live supporting both Visa and Mastercard, and is designed to scale to other international schemes such as Amex, UPI, and Maestro.

Rafael Osorio, Klap’s Chief Technology and Operations Officer, noted “This go-live represents a major step in our platform strategy. Visa and Mastercard acquiring is now fully integrated into a modern, flexible architecture of BPC’s, which allows us to operate at scale and respond quickly to our merchants’ needs. It’s not just about volume; it’s about laying the groundwork for long-term innovation.”

Santiago Egas, Senior Vice President, Managing Director and Board Member at BPC, commented “The Klap team approached this transformation with precision and intent. They have evolved to adopt a future-oriented SaaS platform optimized for scalability, speed, and control. Through this transition, Klap is now one of the few players in the region fully equipped to lead in modern acquiring.”

By adopting BPC’s SmartVista cloud platform, Klap benefits from a scalable, high-performance solution designed to securely handle high transaction volumes and process any international schemes in its network. The platform’s flexibility allows Klap to configure products, launch new services more rapidly, and adapt its acquiring flows with greater agility. Likewise, the addition of SmartVista Merchant Management and Acquiring modules enables centralised product configuration, security, and reconciliation, giving Klap and its merchants enhanced visibility and operational efficiency.

This transformation arrives at a key moment, as Chile accelerates the implementation of Chile Digital 2035, a government initiative focused on reducing the digital divide, strengthening national digital infrastructure, and fostering inclusion through secure and accessible public and private services. Klap’s technological upgrade directly contributes to that mission, creating a more accessible transactional environment for merchants and consumers across the country.

With Visa and Mastercard processing already in operation, the company is beginning to migrate merchants to the new, future-focused SmartVista platform, introducing real-time data analytics for merchants, configuring fees, enabling settlement cycles, deploying API-based services, and further optimizing its processes. This offers enhanced payment options and better user experiences for businesses throughout Chile.
